SCREENING ASSAYS 

TARGET  VALIDATION

High-throughput screening for hit identification is available. Hit-to-lead optimization services include hit validation (confirmatory testing of compounds identified during initial screen, dose-response to test hit compounds over a range of concentrations to determine the most effective) and focused library screening (identify structural analogs of validated hits in commercially available library to find more potent, advanced drug candidates).

SCREENING  SERVICES

Our team is experienced in the validation of prospective drug targets. Using methods such as shRNA and gene over-expression, cell lines can be developed around the prospective target and used to determine its role in a specific phenotype. These tools can serve as the basis for matched in vivo models and support further validation of the target of interest.

REPORTER  ASSAYS

Monitor the effect of drug candidates using target-specific promoters in reporter cell lines. Luciferase-based systems allow for rapid, high through put evaluation of candidates. Specific reporter assays currently available includes p53, NF- kB, and myc. Custom assay development to meet your specific needs is available.

ANTICANCER  ASSAYS

A panel of compounds are screened for toxicity in a cell culture based assay system for a comparison of their effect on cancer cells vs. normal cells. A concentration range of drug activity can be defined and the effects of radiation on cancer cells established. Drug effects are characterized by proliferation, growth inhibition, apoptosis, and custom readouts.

SYNERGY  MODELS

Synergistic drug combos can be identified in vitro by improving efficacy beyond what would be expected from simple addition of two agents. Standard cytotoxicity or clonogenic assays are performed with fixed ratios of drug candidate to conventional agent to identify powerful combinations that warrant further investigation.
